Support

Email support@certif.ly and a person will answer. You don't need an account to ask. Include your organization's name and, for the Slack app, your Slack workspace's name.

The Certifly Slack app

The app posts your organization's security and compliance alerts to one Slack channel, and answers direct messages with the Certifly assistant.

Add it to Slack

A Certifly admin signs in and goes to Settings ▸ Notifications ▸ Add to Slack, then picks the channel for alerts on Slack's own screen. That channel gets a test message straight away. One install covers the whole workspace.

Ask the assistant in a DM

An admin first turns on Settings ▸ AI ▸ Assistant in Slack. Then anyone in the workspace can DM the app. The first message gets a Connect account button. Open it, signed in to Certifly, and confirm. The app connects only when your Slack email matches your Certifly account, and only through your organization's single sign-on where it requires it. It then answers with what your own account can see, in your DM only, never in channels.

Disconnect, or remove the app

  • Say disconnect to the app in your DM to stop it answering you.
  • Admins can disconnect anyone under Settings ▸ Notifications.
  • Deleting the Slack notification there revokes the app's access to the workspace. Removing the app from Slack does the same, and Certifly stops posting immediately.

What it can access

  • chat:write, chat:write.public, incoming-webhook: post to the one channel chosen at install.
  • im:history: receive the DMs people send to the app. Not channels, not other conversations.
  • users:read, users:read.email: look up the person who asks to connect, once, to check their email.

Certifly never reads channels or other people's messages. Assistant conversations from Slack are kept in Certifly only where your organization keeps chat history, for 90 days, readable only by the person who had them. See the privacy policy.

Something isn't working

  • No alerts in the channel: check the Slack entry under Settings ▸ Notifications is enabled and subscribed to the events you expect. If it says Slack revoked access, use Reconnect.
  • The app doesn't answer DMs: the Assistant in Slack has to be on, and the app has to have been added to Slack after it was. Adding it again keeps the channel and its settings.
  • "This Slack account isn't yours" when connecting: you're signed in to Certifly with an address that isn't your Slack email. Sign in as yourself, or ask an admin to link your identity provider account.

Everything else

Signed-in customers have the full guide under Docs in the console, and a Help chat on every page. For billing, security reports or anything not covered there, email support@certif.ly.
